Andrew Borer

Primary Instrument: Drums


Andrew Borer is a percussion teacher and performer raised in Norfolk, NE.  After his All-State music career in high school, he attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where he performed as center marimba in the Cornhusker Marching Band.  While in college, he performed and competed in Dojo Percussion, a theatrical winter drumline that competes on a national level. That year, Dojo scored 1st in visual caption at the World Championships and 6th overall. 


Andrew’s specialty in percussion is based around malleted instruments using different four mallet techniques but is also very proficient in all concert, marching, and jazz percussion instruments.  Throughout the last few years he has instructed high school drumlines and front ensembles such as Lincoln Southeast, and Omaha Burke. 


Currently, Andrew plays in four different bands ranging from genres like Americana rock, funk, blues, classic rock, folk, reggae, and world music.  His well-rounded styles in music is perfect for any student from any background.
